The Terrace sitting opposite the river Avon in the centre of the city.
Once known as the strip which was in its day a popular place especially at night.
Having been rebuilt completely after the earthquakes the Terrace is bigger and better than before with plenty of dinning and drinking options to choose from.
Just across the boulevard and the tram tracks are deep and wide steps that take you down to the river itself, people can grab lunch and sit watching the river and the local wildlife.
Coupled with the Riverside Market it has become a very popular place for both visitors and people living in Christchurch.
On the far side of the river, a perfect location has been created for bands to play, using the river bank as a mini - amphitheatre, and also providing a great hub for the Busker’s Festival when it's on.
