A man has been injured during a home invasion in Christchurch.

Police received reports of three offenders entering a residential property on Joy Street, in Shirley about 5.15 this morning.

The victim was assaulted and left with facial injuries.

The invaders took off with electronic items.

Police say one offender may have been carrying a weapon.
