The Beer Library was started in 2014 when owner Garth Peterson moved from Chicago to Christchurch and was unable to find a suitable and affordable place to buy quality craft beer. The Beer Library is a family-run bottle shop in Christchurch that provides the best and freshest selection of craft beer available in New Zealand. We have a massive bottle selection (over 300 varieties of craft beer, wine, and small-batch spirits), and a draft station for growler/rigger fills.

Whether you're a complete newbie or a craft beer nerd, we have something tasty for you. Our focus is on providing high quality product and service to our customers. More than that, we hope for The Beer Library to be a place where you can find community and engagement with a diverse group of people brought together by a common passion for beer.​
