Linwood Pool Christchurch
A new indoor swimming pool is planned for the Linwood-Woolston community and is expected to open in late 2021.
The high profile location on the corner of Linwood Avenue and Smith Street has been chosen as the site for the planned Aquatic Centre. The facility will be built at 141 Smith Street, which is on a section next to Linwood Park that faces onto Linwood Avenue.
The location was finalised by the Linwood-Central-Heathcote Community Board on 16 May 2018 after extensive community consultation on possible locations for the planned new pool facility.
Linwood’s new pool complex Te Pou Toetoe will open ahead of schedule, with construction set to finish ahead of time and within budget.
Friday 1 October has been earmarked for opening the much-anticipated $22 million facility to the public.
